At Columbia Aerial Fitness, we offer a variety of aerial classes! All of our classes are drop-in classes and are categorized into fitness classes or apparatus leveled classes. Fitness classes can benefit everyone and use the aerial equipment as a tool to gain strength and flexibility. Our apparatus level classes teach students sequences on the various apparatuses we offer.

We know that every studio has different level systems and requirements to advance. We have three different levels for our apparatuses: Foundations, Intermediate, and Exploratory.

In our Foundations classes, you will learn exactly that - foundational aerial vocabulary, wraps, poses, and strength that are necessary to advance! While our instruction includes progressive overload for your growth, we also believe that we can never outgrow the foundational moves and skills. As a result, you will find advanced students and complete beginners in our foundations classes.

Once students have mastered the foundations, they are invited to attend our Intermediate classes. Students will begin working on inversions, drops, and longer sequences in our intermediate classes.

Our Exploratory classes are our most advanced classes and typically require significant body awareness, control, and understanding of body mechanics and wrap theory. These classes work on advanced aerial skills such as wheel downs, c shapes, roll ups, and less support from the aerial apparatuses.

Please check out our apparatus page for specific skills learned in each level for our apparatuses.

Our Open Studio is not a class and does not have an instructor teaching new skills. This service is not available for first time students. Instead, this is a time for students to come work on skills they have learned in class.

If you have questions about our level system, please feel free to email us!
